The National Whistleblowers Center is co-sponsoring a free conference beginning this Sunday, March 8th. The 2009 National Whistleblower Assembly has a wide variety of events running throughout Wednesday, March 11th. The conference highlights the contributions of whistleblowers including Dr. Jeffery Wigand (tobacco industry whistleblower), Coleen Rowley (FBI whistleblower and Time Magazine’s Co-person of the Year), and Thomas Tamm (warrantless wiretapping whistleblower). The conference also includes workshops on currrent whistleblower laws and issues. You can view the full agenda for the conference by clicking here.

NWC President Stephen M. Kohn is hosting a workshop on Sunday from 4:50 to 5:50 pm entitled “National Whistleblower Protection Act: A Comprehensive Law Protecting Whistleblowers.” The workshop will address what needs to be included in a national whistleblower law and what should not be included in the law.

We encourage everyone to attend and Steve Kohn looks forward to meeting members of the National Whistleblowers Center’s Action Alert network during or after his workshop. The conference is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are encouraged. Please contact Lindsey Williams at lmw@whistleblowers.org or 202-342-1903 for more information.
