Whistleblower Network News (WNN) and the National Whistleblower Center (NWC) published a social media kit that contains resources for supporters who want to spread the word about the campaign to make National Whistleblower Day permanent.
The campaign is led by a core group of whistleblowers led by WNN’s Jane Turner, an FBI whistleblower, reporter, and podcast host. The group is calling on President Biden to sign an Executive Order permanently establishing July 30 as National Whistleblower Day and requiring all federal agencies to recognize the day.
The social media kit contains information about the campaign, which is a grassroots effort let by and for whistleblowers. Included are suggested post ideas that supporters can use on social media, like offering words of encouragement and advice for individuals who might be considering blowing the whistle. The kit also has downloadable images and content that is free for the public to share, as well as a list of hashtags to use when sharing about the campaign.
Supporters are encouraged to sign a petition urging their members of Congress and President Biden to make National Whistleblower Day permanent. The publication of this media kit enables whistleblowers and advocates to share their support for the campaign throughout their own networks.
