DOJ whistleblowers will give testimony in the coming weeks regarding misconduct and “unprecedented politicization” of the Department of Justice under Attorney General William Barr.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) announced a series of actions Congress will take against Barr, all intended to “protect the integrity” of the DOJ.

According to Politico, the efforts come after Barr has refused to testify before the Committee.

“We do not take these actions lightly or with any sense of joy. We have both a duty and a moral obligation to protect the rule of law in our country, and we intend to do just that,” Nadler said in a statement.

The whistleblower hearings have yet to be formally scheduled but will include former DOJ officials.

Nadler also pushed back at Barr for claiming he was too busy to testify because of the coronavirus pandemic, even though Barr appeared in Lafayette Park and posed for pictures with President Trump on Monday.

Members of the panel are also likely to question Barr’s deployment of DOJ riot teams to contain recent protests in Washington, D.C.
