On May 25, Siri Nelson, Executive Director of the National Whistleblower Center (NWC), and Mark Worth, WNN reporter and Executive Director of Whistleblowing International and the European Center for Whistleblower Rights, talked about whistleblower rights at The Hague in the Netherlands.

Nelson and Worth met with The Hague & Partners and Hague Convention Bureau, as well as members of the city government.

“The Hague has been so welcoming to NWC, and it is incredible to see whistleblower rights become more included in human rights discussions and for NWC to be more active in the human rights community,” Nelson told WNN.

Worth added, “We are thrilled about the opportunity to collaborate with the many human rights, rule of law and anti-corruption groups in The Hague. Sincere thanks to the Humanity Hub, the Hague Business Agency and the Hague Municipality for their assistance and team spirit in support of the whistleblower rights community.”

On May 31, both Nelson and Worth presented at the World Justice Project’s World Justice Forum alongside whistleblower attorney Stephen Kohn of Kohn, Kohn and Colapinto. During the session, entitled “Whistleblowing for Our Future: Innovations in Society’s Best Anti-Corruption Tool,” attendees participated in a discussion on “harnessing whistleblowing to support their work.” The presenters also educated the participants “incorporating whistleblowing strategies to improve their anti-corruption and rule of law initiatives.”

Just wrapped a great workshop on #whistleblower rights. We had participants from all over the world & the interest from our attendees is a great sign for #whistleblowers around the world. Thank you @TheWJP for including us in the #WorldJusticeForum. 🙏🏽 pic.twitter.com/HM1Pfqxqry

“The World Justice Project’s commitment to whistleblowers is inspiring,” said Kohn. “The participants in our program, who came from around the world, are in the front lines of fighting corruption and defending the whistleblowers who risk so much to vindicate human rights.”
