WNN does not operate a lawyer referral service and does not provide legal advice. However, we can help point you in the right direction if you’re seeking legal assistance.

We encourage you to use the free legal resources provided below to search for an attorney. Also, we strongly urge every whistleblower to obtain information concerning their rights, which includes:

Submit an Intake

Kohn, Kohn and Colapinto

The law firm of Kohn, Kohn and Colapinto is reviewing intakes at no charge. If you are interested, please fill out an intake.

National Whistleblower Center

The National Whistleblower Center operates an attorney referral program that also provides for a pre-review of intakes and the referral to a participating law firm if there is an attorney in the program who may be interested in your case. If you are interested, please submit an intake.

Disclaimer
Neither the Kohn, Kohn and Colapinto nor the National Whistleblower Center have agreed to represent you, and you should continue looking for an attorney while your case is under review. The intakes submitted are confidential under client-attorney privilege. WNN is not responsible for any advice that you receive from anyone, attorney or non-attorney, including the persons listed in the various directories below.

Attorney Directory

Unfortunately, whistleblowers often have a difficult time obtaining legal counsel. Whistleblower law firms have limited capacity to take on new cases, and the National Whistleblower Center attorney referral program is in the process of recruiting additonal lawyers given the demand.

As a public service to whistleblowers seeking counsel, we have assembled a comprehensive list of other employment related organizations, and state and local bar associations, where whistleblowers can also locate attorneys.

We recommend in the strongest possible terms that any whistleblower seeking an attorney obtain a copy of Rules for Whistleblowers for two reasons, (1) so that you understand your rights and the statute of limitations, and (b) so that you can explain your case better to a prospective attorney.

Rules for Whistleblowers

Rules for Whistleblowers

We cannot overstate the importance of learning your rights and the best practices for reporting wrongdoing. We suggest that you – in the strongest terms possible – obtain a copy of Rules for Whistleblowers: A Handbook for Doing What’s Right (Lyons Press, 2023). Kohn’s thirty-seven rules highlight the “traps” facing whistleblowers today and address how to file anonymous cases and qualify for multi-million-dollar rewards.

If you cannot afford to purchase Handbook, you can request a free copy fund@report-fraud-now.info. If you find the Handbook Helpful, please make a donation to the National Whistleblower Center.

We also urge you to subscribe to Whistleblower Network News, a free online newspaper published by the NWLDEF. By accessing the newspaper, you can also access Frequently Asked Questions and other resources explaining your rights as a whistleblower.
