Yesterday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced it arrested an individual who was selling fake products on eBay claiming it would protect against viruses.

This enforcement action is the latest in the DOJ’s plan to combat frauds related to the coronavirus crisis.

In late March, the DOJ announced its first charge against a COVID-19 fraudster.

“Reliance on fraudulent products may increase the spread of COVID-19 and exacerbate the current public health emergency,” said Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Assistant Administrator for Enforcement and Compliance Assurance Susan Bodine.

If you have information about COVID-19 frauds, it is best practice to immediately contact an experienced whistleblower attorney.
