Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto Launches Securities and Commodities Whistleblower Group With Allison Herren Lee and Andrew Feller

On September 30th, leading whistleblower law firm Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto (KKC) announced its new Securities and Commodities Whistleblower Practice Group. This group is co-chaired by Former Securities and Exchange (SEC) Commissioner Allison Herren Lee and former SEC Enforcement Attorney Andrew Feller. The new group aims to enhance the firm’s distinguished representation of securities and commodities whistleblowers.

KKC has a long-standing history of successfully championing securities and commodities whistleblowers, such as individuals who have received over $125 million in awards from the SEC Whistleblower Program and whose disclosures have recovered over $1.5 billion in recouped funds. The firm also helped draft the first corporate whistleblower law, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and played a hand in creating the SEC Whistleblower Program. The firm hopes to build off this legacy of success.

Feller recently joined KKC after serving fifteen years at the SEC, twelve of which as Senior Counsel in the SEC Division of Enforcement and three as Senior Counsel and Policy Advisor to SEC Commissioner Allison Herren Lee. In these roles, Feller worked closely on the Commission’s whistleblower programs, advising the Commission on amendments to the program. Lee joined the firm as Of Counsel in 2023 after nearly a decade of service at the SEC. During her SEC tenure, she advocated tirelessly for stronger whistleblower protections. Together, the pair bring over 30 years of experience fighting securities and commodities fraud to the new practice group.

“We are so honored to have Allison and Andrew working to even the playing field by offering whistleblowers the same expertise offered by the corporate defense firms who traditionally hire former SEC officials,” remarked Stephen M. Kohn, Founding Partner at KKC. “Whistleblowers will significantly benefit from having seasoned legal veterans with unparalleled experience present their case to law enforcement in order to ensure accountability and oversight.”

Remarking on the group’s launch, Feller stated he and Lee “are excited to build the new practice group together with the dedicated team at KKC, having seen firsthand KKC’s leading participation in the rulemaking processes that helped ensure the success of the SEC Whistleblower Program as well as their tireless work representing brave whistleblowers in hugely successful cases before the SEC and CFTC.”
