“I simply thought I was doing what you should do as an FBI agent.” In the first of a two-part episode, Jane talks with Theresa Foley, an FBI whistleblower and the first female agent to be assigned to Guantanamo Bay full-time. Foley talks about her journey of becoming an FBI agent and the horrors she suffered once stationed at Guantanamo Bay, including contracting leptospirosis, an illness she got from rats that infested her deplorable living quarters. The illness has had serious, lasting effects that drained her athleticism and causes severe pain. Foley also discusses the “vicious” retaliation and sexual harassment she was subjected to while stationed at Guantanamo Bay, as well as the moment she knew she had a target on her back.
