National Whistleblower Day Celebration Returning to Capitol Hill

National Whistleblower Day

On July 30, whistleblowers, advocates and members of Congress will once again gather on Capitol Hill for the National Whistleblower Center’s celebration of National Whistleblower Day.

Each year since 2013, the U.S. Senate has unanimously passed a resolution designating July 30 as National Whistleblower Day, honoring the sacrifices and contributions of whistleblowers.

Among the speakers at National Whistleblower Day 2025 will be two of whistleblowers’ leading champions in Congress: Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ron Wyden (D-OR). Grassley and Wyden are co-founders and co-chairs of the Senate Whistleblower Protection Caucus and have sponsored a number of critical whistleblower laws.

More speakers are to be announced.

Last year’s celebration included speeches by Senators Grassley and Wyden, Boeing whistleblower Ed Pierson, Big Tobacco whistleblower Jeffrey Wigand, and heads of various government whistleblower offices. National Whistleblower Day 2024 is available to watch on C-SPAN.
