The film festival centers documentaries and films about and inspired by investigative journalism and journalists. The opening night of the festival will take place on October 13 and features a screening of Sonia Kennebeck’s film United States vs. Reality Winner, a documentary about National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower Reality Winner. After the screening, Winner herself, along with her mother Billie, sister Brittany, and lawyer Alison Grinter will engage in conversation with Kennebeck, producer Ines Hofmann Kanna, and Comcast newsmaker Tetiana Anderson, according to a tweet from the festival’s account.
