USAID Event to Tackle Transnational Corruption

On December 7, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samantha Power will host a Summit for Democracy Event entitled “All Hands on Deck: Innovating Together to Combat Transnational Corruption.” The event, which is free to attend with registration, will be held on Tuesday, December 7 at 10:00am Eastern Standard Time.

The event will feature 11 experts from advocacy organizations, businesses, and international governments. During the event, the featured speakers will talk about “innovations and collaboration to tackle corruption.” Power will “also announce concrete ways to partner with USAID in tackling transnational corruption during the Summit for Democracy year of action and beyond.”

One expert featured in the event is Siri Nelson, Executive Director of the National Whistleblower Center (NWC). According to a press release, Nelson will be talking about “the value of innovative approaches to whistleblower programs in the fight against transnational corruption.” She will also discuss “the success of these approaches for climate and wildlife whistleblowers worldwide.”
