Sullivan County, New York, adds whistleblower protection for its employees

Sullivan County, New York, has enacted a new law to protect county employees who blow the whistle, Mid-Hudson News reports.  Legislature Chairman Jonathan Rouis told the paper that, “There are a lot of protections afforded in the statute as it stands, but this is nice just to send a message to your employees that they can come forward and they don’t have to worry about any sense of retaliation.” The paper reported last year that Ulster County, New York, adopted a similar whistleblower protection.
