Donna C. Boehme of Compliance Strategists LLC has been named a 2018 Trust Across America Lifetime Achievement Award honoree for her outstanding achievements in the field of corporate ethics and compliance. Ms. Boehme is the first member from the compliance profession to receive this prestigious award.
Founded in the wake of the 2008 Financial Crisis, Trust Across America aims to “enhance trustworthy behavior in organizations.” It honors those individuals whose work helps to elevate societal trust across a wide range of industries and professions, recognizing top executives, professionals, and thought leaders who are transforming the way corporations do business. The Lifetime Achievement Award is given only to those exceptional individuals who have been recognized for this honor for five consecutive years.
Ms. Boehme’s 20+ years of experience in the field of compliance has earned her the nickname, “The Lion of Compliance.” She is an internationally recognized authority and leader in the field of compliance and ethics who is widely credited with transforming the governance model for the compliance profession into what is now known as Compliance 2.0. For ten years she pioneered the creation of new models for global compliance programs. In 2014 Ms. Boehme was awarded the SCCE’s 10-year anniversary award for dedicated service.
Ms. Boehme has also been a long-time supporter and advocate of whistleblower rights and protections. In 2017 Ms. Boehme signed on to National Whistleblower Center’s acclaimed amicus curiae brief in the case Digital Realty Trust v. Somers.
This award serves to underscore (i) the outstanding progress the profession has made as the new and independent subject-matter expert needed by C-Suites to design and manage compliance programs, and (ii) to establish the Compliance 2.0 framework as the essential system implemented to support successful compliance and ethics programs and cultures of integrity and ethical leadership.
As a preeminent thought leader and trailblazer in the field of compliance and ethics, as well as a supporter of whistleblower rights, Ms. Boehme is incredibly deserving of this award, and of many congratulations.
