Lawrence Sperling is currently Senior Advisor for International Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Interior. Previously, at the U.S. State Department, he led the Data Revolution for Sustainable Development Team in the Office of the Global AIDS Coordinator, advised the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources on implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, led the State Department’s engagement in the Open Government Partnership, developed public-private partnerships to curb deforestation, and led strategic planning and good governance efforts for the Bureau of Oceans, Environment and Science. He served as the Environmental Protection Agency’s Attaché in Mexico and developed international cooperation for EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance.
