Chinese Officials Admit Poor Treatment of Coronavirus Whistleblower

Authorities in China are apologizing to the family of coronavirus whistleblower Li Wenliang, a doctor who died from the virus after being reprimanded for reporting the severity of the crisis.

Chinese investigators are concluding that authorities acted “inadequately” when they reprimanded the late doctor.

Dr. Wenliang was one of the first known whistleblowers to warn the public of the novel coronavirus after it emerged in Wuhan, China.
